it was awesome someone managed to put this together.
after experiencing this, not sure if my team cld have done the same good job if it took place last year with a different sponsor! hehe
anw, so excited to find out i placed 3rd for my Age Group 25-29yrs for the 40km challenge, with 1:11:21:598 timing!
before the race, i was still thinking of having a relatively leisure ride. then at the starting point, decided to more into the 60min pen, instead of originally signed up 60-75min pen. and thats where i started gettin stuck in decision btw leisure (but potentially dangerous with other riders), and competitive ('safer', and fulfill my riding thrill). halfway thru the 40km, i remember tinking to myself - hey! there is a chance i can place! thus, began riding harder, pulling a lot of guys, n negative split times for 2nd loop/U-turn route!
thinking back, i was/am bit frustrated that the train i was with, did not carry their (boys') weight, n take turns to pull. indeed i cld have saved precious energy by drafting more. but oh well, excellent training. n pride to boot! also, i have NEVER peddled so hard before. sweat was jus dripping, n kept heart-rate not bursting high too.
overall a great race!!
